Patricia Hernandez

ALBANY-Patricia J. Hernandez, 81 of Tremont Drive Albany, NY passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Albany Medical Center. Patricia was born in Glens Falls, NY the daughter of the late John and Eleanor Larry Paul and was raised in Vermont. She was a graduate of Syracuse University, earning a Master's Degree in Nursing and began her career in Albany, NY in 1979. Patricia accepted a position with NYS Department of Health as a nursing consultant for the Bureau of Standards. Prior to that, she was Director of Nursing for Bennington Hospital in Vermont. She continued to pursue her love to help people even in her 70's, working with youth's in crisis at the Parson's Child and Family Center in Albany. Patricia was the co-chair of the Albany DDSO, where she was an advocate for those with Developmental Disabilities. She was also a Board Member of Catholic Charities and an active Syracuse Alumni.
Patricia is survived by her two beloved daughters Karen and her husband, Eric and Heidi, along with her two beautiful grandchildren Jacqueline and Jonathan. She is also survived by her sister Betsy, her brother John, and by her nieces and nephews, Sarah, Annie, Jim and John.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Rochester Cemetery in Vermont at a later date.
