Patricia L. Hoffman (73) - Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey she was the daughter of the late Walter and Loretta (Gryniak) Lichota. She was a devoted sister to W. Ronald Lichota, Sr. and Gregory Lichota, both of whom predeceased her. Patricia was blessed with beautiful twin daughters, Kristine and Teresa (deceased). She is survived by her beloved daughter, Kristine Hoffman, and her devoted dachshund, Reeses.
Patricia had a 20-year career as a Telecommunications Operator for the New Jersey State Police. She retired in 2006 and relocated to the Capital District to be near her daughter. During her retirement she was dedicated to two things: her daughter and her wiener dog, Reeses. Patricia was drawn to sunny Florida where she spent a short stint, but when her health started to decline she moved back to the area to once again be near her daughter who was devoted to caring for her. She and Reeses particularly enjoyed their daily walks together in the warm Florida sun. As her health declined, Reeses, ever devoted and loyal, never left her side right up until the very end.
During the last several months, Albany Medical Center became her second home as she bravely battled cancer. Her kind and understanding demeanor made her a favorite of all the wonderful nurses who provided her care during her many stays at the facility. After achieving Platinum Member status at AMC, being elected Mayor of Apheresis, and finally getting a water ice in a flavor other than orange, she realized that she had reached the pinnacle of her treatment and decided it was time to join her daughter, parents and brothers. She passed away July 6, 2020 at her home, surrounded by loved ones, and of course, Reeses.
