Patricia A. Lynch

May 10, 1944 — August 13, 2022

Patricia A. Lynch, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2022, with her four children by her side after a short illness.

Pat was born May 10, 1944, in Jersey City, NJ and was the oldest daughter to the late Natalie (Marvel) and James Downes. At six years old, she achieved maximum recovery from Polio at the Sister Kenny Institute going forth to live a full and prosperous life. Pat went on to a career as a Radiologic Technologist for 45 years in New Jersey and New York, until her retirement from Cobleskill Regional Hospital.

She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, David Lynch, who passed away September 22, 2000.

In June of 1985, the family relocated from Highland Lakes, NJ to her cherished farmhouse in Esperance, New York where she lived until 2013 before retiring in her dream Florida home. She enjoyed splitting her retirement years between New York and Florida as a snowbird with her loving partner Dennis Corcoran.

She was best known as Pat, Mom, Nanny, or if someone couldn't remember her name, "the sweet lady with the bun on her head." Her bun was described as iconic, timeless, and she wore it better than anyone for decades. It was her signature trademark, and she was quite proud of being known as "the bun lady."

Pat was a lover to all living creatures and nature. She touched the lives of so many through her generous and kind persona, eternal optimism, always welcoming friends into her home for coffee, tea, spirits or an engaging discussion about animals, wildlife, current events, or life in general. She always lived in the moment and did not waste any time. She enjoyed reading, being outdoors, swimming in her pool in Florida, being on her farm, and spending time with the ones she loved.

She was most proud of her family, her farm in NY which held lots of great memories for the family, friends, her 4H group, and her many beautiful gardens that surrounded her homes. Her children have many great memories of her spending hours gardening in New Jersey and New York with her dear friend of 47 years, Barbara Fimia, of Highland Lakes, NJ.

She is survived by her partner Dennis Corcoran, her four children David Lynch Jr. (Kimberly) of Esperance, NY; Dana Kellerman (David) of Lake Placid, NY; Deana Hunter (Christopher) of Cape Coral, FL; and Daniel Lynch (Micheal) of Milledgeville, GA. Pat also leaves behind four grandchildren that she adored: Nicholas, Alexander, Deidra, and Natalie. She is survived by her two sisters, Barbara Coffaro (Ronald) also known lovingly as her sister "B," Susan Downes, and several beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Albany Medical Center Hospital, St. Peter's Hospital, NYOH, and Albany Pulmonology for the care and compassion shown to our mom. Our Mom fought her illness like the strong warrior that she was until the very end, and she will be missed by all that loved and knew her.

A private celebration of her great life will be held for immediate family in Florida per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, a donation of volunteer service or monetary value can be made in her memory to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley or the Animal Shelter of Cape Coral, FL.
