TROY – Patricia Medley Strother-Anderson, 82, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born in Beacon, NY and was the daughter of the late Robert and Cassie Strother. She was also predeceased by her sister, Margaret Wilkes and her brother, John Allen Strother.
Psalms 83:18 "That man may know that I am the most high over all the earth, my name is Jehovah", Momma made a constant effort "every day" during Daily Text she wanted scripture included in her text!
Momma leaves behind "her" Flower Garden of twelve (12), Momma wanted it known that she loved "Each and Every One" of her 12 children, with their continuous flourishing seeds, fifty one (51) grandchildren, one hundred twenty five (125) great grandchildren; Allen (deceased) – seeds: sons, Marlin, Derrick, Curtis, and Alan Jr., and daughters, Paula, Candy, Net, and Jamilia (deceased) with grandchildren and great grandchildren; Kenneth – seeds: son, Kenneth Jr., and daughters, Karen, Margaret, Nicole and Cassie with grandchildren and great grandchildren; Sandra "Christy" – seeds: daughters, Andrea and Anetra with grandchildren and great grandchildren; Daniel "Danny" (wife – Judy) – seeds: sons, David, LaMel, and Isaac, and daughters, Shari and Danielle with grandchildren; Wanda – seeds: sons, Naja, Ahmed, and Mastafa, and daughters, Sonya and Khadijah with grandchildren; Sherry – seeds: sons, William and Gene, and daughters, LaKisha, Tamika with grandchildren; Terry – seeds: son, DuShawn with grandchildren; Mary (husband – Anthony) – seeds: sons, Marshall Jr. and Devin, and daughter, Passion with grandchildren; Lillian "Lisha" – seeds: sons, Raymone "Monie", Omar "Bruddy", Cruso "NayNay", and Miguel, and daughters, Xiomita, ShaKeya, Daysha, "DayDay" with grandchildren; Margaret "Marg" – seeds: daughters, Shawan and LaTifah, and son, Kenneth Jr.; Alfred "Big" – seeds: daughters, Brandy, Kayla, Makayla with grandchildren; Anthony "Ant"– seeds: sons, Anthony Jr. and Rayshawn, and daughters, Cherrelle, LaToya, and Naamah with grandchildren.
Also survived by an aunt, Florence Strange; a nephew, John Allen Strother, Jr.; a great niece, Julia "Tookie" Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins all of Beacon, NY; a cousin, Gussie Washington of Orange, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews of St. Louis, MO; and one very dear special friend that brought joy to her heart and will always be remembered by her family, Joy Hamlin. She was predeceased by an uncle, Crip Strange, aunt and uncle, Ruth and John Ashby, and niece, Cookie Strother.
Momma's joy was sending out her literature to her family and friends "Everywhere". Momma additionally, loved her flowers in doors and out!!
Momma "always" worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital as nurses assistant and retired from New York State as Secretary at 40 North Pearl Street.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Rensselaer Congregation of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Third Avenue Ext., Rensselaer, NY. Graveside service will follow at 12 noon Friday at New Rural Cemetery in Rensselaer.
