Patricia A. Morris MS, RN, OCN peacefully passed away on July 29, 2022 surrounded by her family and friends.
Pat, the oldest of three siblings, was born on October 10, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to William J. Parker and Dorothy Parker (nee Ferrier). Pat was preceded in death by her brother, William.
Pat was a graduate of Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital and had both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Nursing from Russell Sage College.
Pat held nursing positions at Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, San Francisco City & County Hospital in San Francisco, CA, St. Joseph's Hospital in Lorain, Ohio,
Doctor's Hospital in Fairfax, VA and St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY.
Pat finished her career at St. Peter's as Nurse Manager of the Medical Oncology Unit. Pat's remarkable achievements in this role included encouraging her nurse team to continue their educations and to grow their professional skill sets. Pat also served with distinction as President and Newsletter editor of the Capital District Oncology Nursing Society.
Pat was a proud mother of 4 children, her twins Edward (Emmie) Morris, Sheila (Richard) Barnes, Richard (Cindy) Morris and William Morris. Pat was loving mother, and a strong advocate and life guide for her children. Pat was very proud of her grandchildren William and Margaret. She is survived by her younger sister Martha Tracey of Newark, Ohio.
Pat was an enthusiastic quilter and especially enjoyed quilting with her friends and beloved sister Martha.
Pat particularly loved her frequent trips to London with Martha where they enjoyed high tea and English chocolate.
The Morris family wishes to recognize the staff at the Teresian House for the excellent care and kindness shown to Pat.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, August 5 from 10-12 pm on at New Comer Cremations & Funerals at 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. The family requests that masks be worn inside during visitation. A brief service will follow visitation and interment will be at the Bethlehem Cemetery.
