Patricia W. Hart

September 24, 1926 — September 3, 2015

Patricia Walker Hart of Ingersoll Place Assisted Living died on September 3, 2015 after a short illness. She was born September 24, 1926 to Marion and Harold Walker in Mohawk, NY. A singer and tap dancer on stage from the age of three, Pat enjoyed singing and playing music throughout her life. She appeared in two musicals, the first to ever to be presented on stage in what was then the new Herkimer High School auditorium. She graduated form Herkimer High at the age of 16.
During her early years in Herkimer, Pat worked at Remington Rand in Ilion, NY and for Attorneys Albert Lawrence and Donald Brush. Mr. Brush was, at the time, Council to the Office of New York State Governor Thomas Dewey. She also sang to wounded veterans in the hospitals during WWII. She married Donald A. Hart on November 22, 1947 (deceased December 2014) and had four children. The family then relocated to Schenectady in 1963, where she worked for the Schenectady School System, BOCES, Oxygen Enrichment Co., and Sunnyview Hospital, until her retirement.
Pat always loved designing and painting. She was a member of MeloDears woman's chorus for almost 50 years, and also enjoyed many years as a clown for various Central Park events, children's parties and parades.
A long-time communicant of Christ Church, Episcopal, Schenectady, Pat taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She also sang and played guitar for the children and for various other groups in the church. She is survived by her four children, Suzanne (Tim) Vail of Roanoke, Va., Scott Hart of Asheville, S.C., Erin Hart of Schenectady, and Dave Hart of Latham, NY., and three grandchildren, Matt Vail of Roanoke, Laura Hart, currently teaching school in Japan, and Rachael Hart of Michigan.
The funeral will be held at Christ Church, 970 State Street, Schenectady, on Thursday September 10 at 10:00am, with the Rev. Brad Jones officiating. There will be fellowship and refreshments after the funeral in the downstairs hall of the church.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Pat's name may be made to Christ Church, 970 State Street, Schenectady, NY 12307.
