ALBANY_Patrick T. Micare, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Patrick was born on August 17, 1936 son of the late Patrick J. and MaryJane (Battaglia) Micare in Johnstown, NY. Patrick was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the Korean War.
Patrick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He enjoyed playing spades and was always hoping to win the lottery, as he played regularly. He spent many years working for Local 190 in Albany and then went on to drive taxi in Albany. He will be remembered for driving his taxi, where his passengers were always welcome to enjoy a smoke and listen to Frank Sinatra. He would stop home, visit his wife (leaving his door wide open) to grab a cup of coffee. He will be dearly missed, remembered for his kind heart and generosity.
Patrick is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Louise, of Albany, his children, MaryAnn Lamorre of Cohoes, Michael J. Lamorre of Albany, Steven Lamorre of Waterford, sisters, MaryJane (Robert) Simmon, Helen Garrow, a sister-in-law, Gloria Micare and grandchildren, Frank (Dina) Coluccio Jr., Mona Coluccio, Tony (Lisa) Coluccio, Angela (Taheim) Coluccio, Michael Lamorre Jr., Michele (Roberto) Pacheco, Mandy (Jack) Lamorre, Tyler Lamorre, Chayanne Lamorre and 16 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Patrick will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY at 5:30 PM. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 4pm to 5:30pm and 6:30pm to 7:00pm.
