COLONIE- Patrick S. "Buddy" Nash, 88, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2017 after a brief illness.
Pat was born in Colonie, NY on May 9, 1928 to the late Maria and Anthony Nash. He lived in Colonie and worked for the South Colonie School District in the Transportation Dept. for over 35 years. He is a lifetime member of the Village of Colonie Fire Dept. In his later years Pat enjoyed traveling in his RV, planting his yearly garden, and his famous Christmas decorations.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his 5 siblings.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jean Nash, his children, Tony (Linda) Nash, and Maria Nash of Colonie, NY. Also survived by his grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher, and Tyler "Chop Chop", as well as many nieces.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Roberta Miller, his aide, Sally Chapman, and the Eddie Visiting Nurses Association, with a special thanks to his nurses, Jennifer, Gayle, and Michelle. Jean would also like to thank her friends, Sandy Hildenbrandt, Pam Tracy, and Maryann Rajczewski, as well as Jean and Patrick's family for their support and care during his illness.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205, on Thursday April 6, 2017 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:00am. Burial will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Pat's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-0050
