Pattie Ann Daniels- Hicks, the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Geneva Daniels, entered into Eternal Rest on July 26, 2024.
Pattie was born In Troy, NY on April 7, 1960, she was one of four (4) children. Pattie was proceeded in death by her brother, the late Thomas “Butch” Daniels Jr. (Dorothy).
After Pattie graduated from Troy High School. She worked for The Home Savings Bank in Troy, NY. Following the birth of her first son, Dante, she relocated to Bronx, NY. Pattie spent years employed with the Administrative Department of the New York Police Department. In January 1987, Pattie entered into matrimony with Alfonzo Hicks Jr. From this union they had two children: Alfonzo III (Troy, NY) and Portia (Ronkonkoma, NY). Pattie loved her children and devoted her time to their nurturing and education.
After Pattie and her family moved back to Troy, her children completed their studies, graduated from Troy High School, and started on their goals of self-sufficiency. Pattie returned to employment, working several jobs, including her latest one as a Matron for the Durham Bus Company.
To know Pattie would be understanding her love of music, shopping and preparing soulful meals for her cherished ones. She was most known for her ‘Mac and Cheese” Pattie enjoyed “gossiping” on the phone with her sister Barbara, while taking control of the conversation. Most of all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, taking care of her grandchildren, and her many adoptive grandchildren. She was well known as “Grandma Pattie” or “Nannie”.
Pattie leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children; Dante Brown (Baltimore, MD), Alfonzo Hicks III (Troy, NY) and Portia Hicks (Ronkonkoma, NY); siblings Barabra and Eric Daniels of Troy, NY; her grandchildren Amariyana Hicks (Troy, NY) and Amari Nurse (Ronkonkoma, NY); sister in law Dorothy Daniels (Troy, NY) and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends, including her special girlfriends Lynn Mosley, Phyllis Simon, Tricinne Mauzon and Patricia “Mama” Cooper.
A visitation will be held on Friday August 2nd from 9a-11am with a service following at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY
Interment to take place in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy NY
