Paul C. Schleede

COLONIE – Paul C. Schleede, 75, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2005 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was born on December 31, 1929 in Schenectady and was the son of the late Paul C. and Emelia H. Schleede. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953, attaining the rank of Corporal. He worked as a steam fitter at General Electric for 37½ years, before retiring in 1987.
Paul was very active with many churches. He was currently a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Colonie and Hope Lutheran in Bonita Springs, FL. He was instrumental in the building of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Latham and was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran in Albany, where he was President of the Congregation. Paul also was active with Harvest Time Ministries in Bonita Springs where they assisted migrant workers in Southwest Florida with food, clothing, toys and bibles.
Paul enjoyed playing golf and in his career he made four holes in one.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lorraine D. Schleede; his children, Christopher P. (Diane) Schleede of Guilderland, Susan M. (John) Walter of Colonie and Melissa A. Fleischmann of Naples, FL.; his grandchildren, Sarah M. (Michael) Lanoue, Christopher M. Schleede, Katherine L. (Joseph) Kidder, Amanda M. Schleede, Laura E. Fleischmann and Samantha G. Walter; and his two great grandsons, Devin M. and Matthew J. Lanoue. He was also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m at Our Savior's Lutheran Church 63 Mountain View Avenue, Colonie. Interment will follow at Memory's Garden in Colonie.
