Paul Edward "Red" McClure Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born on October 20, 1937 in Troy, NY to the late Leonard and Marion McClure.
Paul proudly served with the United States Air Force and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the A.O.H. (Ancient Order of Hibernians) and friends of the 112th street. He worked for CDTA Trans Union 1321 until his retirement, when he transferred his residence at Evergreen Commons. He was an avid sports fan and was very supportive of his family and friends. He was an advocate for many. He had a huge heart, was respected by all and enjoyed being Santa Claus for many. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son, John Francis McClure, his brother, Bud McClure and his sister Betty McClure.
Paul is survived by his cherished children, Paul Edward McClure, Kevin (Gloria) McClure, Mark McClure, Pamela (Edward) Springer and Laurie (Joseph) Kennedy. He is also survived by many grandchildren, four great grandchildren and six sisters and brothers.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Albany Office, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205 in Paul's memory.
Funeral Services will be Friday, October 4th, 2013 at 8:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie and then to St. Michaels the Archangel Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
