ROTTERDAM, NY – Paul F. Hines, 61, passed away at home on Sunday, March 14, 2010. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Irene and Leo Hines. Paul served with the U.S. Army's 7th Infantry Division in Korea. He retired after twenty years of service with the 109th Air National Guard. He worked for the Schenectady County Sheriff's Dept. from where he retired. He was a member of the Hilderbrand Davis V.F.W. Post #1895. Paul is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Penny (Schwab) Hines. He is the devoted father of Amber (Hines) Letko and her husband, John of Sloansville and Bill (Amanda) Hines of Rotterdam. He is the cherished grandfather of Ian, Sydney and Jacob Letko. Paul is the loving brother of Irene (Joe) Brunnelle and Lois and Norma Hines, all of Webster, NY and Leo (Sue) Hines of Colonie. Paul also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (RT. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Companion Animal Placement Program (CAPP), 279 Troy Rd., Suite 9, Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Paul F. Hines.
