Schenectady- Paul F. McLaughlin, 65, Scotia, NY, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 11, 2015. Paul was born on August 27, 1949, in Flushing Meadows N.Y., the son of Thomas E. McLaughlin and Francis Reddington McLaughlin.
He was a 1967 graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School and a member of the 1971 graduating class from the University of Dayton, majoring in Political Science. For most of his career he worked in social services with developmentally disabled workers. His first and last employment was as a golf course groundskeeper, first at the Mohawk Golf Club as a teenager, and most recently at the Pinehaven Country Club; Paul derived great enjoyment from both.
Paul was unflinchingly loyal and unfailingly kind. If he wasn't doing something for family, he'd help a friend, and when neither was available, he'd find a stranger in need. He will be sorely missed by all, including the hundreds accumulated thru his lifelong love of the game of golf.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Susan; beloved daughters Kathleen (Scarlett Messier) and Christine (Wayne Smith), 4 grandchildren; Isabel, Lorelei, Jasmine and Calvin; 6 brothers, 5 sisters-in-law, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to the viewing at the New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie Tuesdayevening, June 16, from 4 to 8, as well as a Memorial Service Wednesday morning from 10-11.
