Paul Gizzi

ROTTERDAM – Paul T. Gizzi, Sr., 74, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2007 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Carmine and Jennie Gizzi. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Gizzi worked for the Local 40 Union for 40 years before retiring. After his retirement, he worked part time at the Pine Haven Country Club. Paul was an avid New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed golf, traveling and especially loved spending time with his family. Paul is the beloved husband of 53 years to Theresa R. Sgroi Gizzi. He is the devoted father of Paul T. (Patricia Culhane) Gizzi, Jr. of Ballston Spa, Judith A. (John) Karbowski of Schenectady, James S.(Susan Gordon) Gizzi of Saratoga Springs, Lynn M. (Michael) Horan of Bridgewater, NJ, Teri (Rich Prendergast) Gizzi of Tallahassee, FL and Nicole (Chad) Bahrmann of State College, PA. He is the cherished grandfather of Gina M., Shannon P. and Annalise N. Gizzi, John, Jared and Jenessa Karbowski, Mary (Robert) Dlabaj, Kristyn Gizzi, Michael and Kevin Horan and Paul Gizzi Bahrmann. He is the loving great-grandfather of Noelle, Ryan, and Joshua Dlabaj. Paul is the brother of Carmine Gizzi, Michael Gizzi, Joseph Gizzi, Vincent Gizzi, Rose Marie June, Peter Gizzi, Anne Fitzgerald, Robert Gizzi and the late Concetta Cecelia Manning. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Paul the Apostle Church at 10:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
