Paul J. Asher

Colonie- Paul J. Asher passed away on July 30, 2015 surrounded by his family and close friends at Albany Medical Center. He was 75 years old.
The son of the late John and Jane (Ramroth) Asher, Paul was born in Troy, NY on April 7, 1940. As a child he traveled extensively and lived overseas with his parents. Much of his childhood was spent in Greece, the Isle of Rhodes, and Iran. Paul was homeschooled by his mother, attended elementary school in Greece and high school in Iran. He completed high school in Lebanon, NY and at Marianapolis Prep School in Thompson, CT and graduated from Paul Smith's College. As a lifelong businessman Paul owned numerous businesses through the years. He was the founder/owner of Albany Sales and Consulting until his retirement. Paul was known locally for the Catholic Diocesan mausoleum projects.
Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years Suzanne T. (Blain) Asher; his children: Karen M. Asher and Glenn P. (Sara) Asher; his grandchildren: Samantha L., Kiersten M., and Caitlyn E. Asher; and his faithful "pooch" Tootsie.
In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his son David L. Asher.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, August 3 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, August 4 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
