COLONIE – Paul J. Condon, 85, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday July 27, 2008 at the Inn of Community Hospice at St. Peters Hospital. He was born and educated in Albany and was the son of the late Perry and Helen Owens Condon.
Paul served in the US Army during WWII. He was employed with Sealtest, Red Star Local 294 and retired from Albany Institute of History and Art. Paul was a member of the Colonie Elks for over forty years and a longtime parishioner and usher at St. Clare's Church. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine A. Burgess Condon in 2001.
Paul is survived by his daughters, Lynn Condon of Colonie and Nancy Zampella of Rotterdam; his grandsons, Aaron Zampella and David Markes; his siblings, Helen Calivlo of Long Island, Betty Mannering of Los Angeles and Perry M. Condon of Colonie. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He is loving companion of Janis Smith.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 8:30 at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
