TROY –
Paul G. (Tommy) Kennedy, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 14, 2021.
Born and raised in South Troy, Tommy was the son of the late Joseph and Honore Foley Kennedy.
Tommy was an Army Veteran stationed in Korea. When he came home from the service he met the love of his life, Gerry, and they spent the next 59 years together.
He worked for the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Department for 25 years serving as both Sergeant and Captain.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph, Mary (Dayton), Joan (Mahoney), John (Tinker), Patsy and Regina (Claren).
He is survived by his children, Kathleen M. and John F. Kennedy of South Troy and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy. Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
