Paul M. Rockenstyre Jr.

COLONIE-Paul M. "Rock" Rockenstyre Jr., 45, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 16, 2016.

Rock was born in Albany, NY on October 30, 1970 to Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Doreen Rockenstyre Sr. Rock was a graduate of Colonie Central High School and later of Hudson Valley Community College where he received an Associates in Criminal Justice. After college Rock went on to work for Colonie Auto Parts with his grandfather and his uncles. He then went on to work for his Uncle Glenn Oliver in the food service industry with Sprectrum Foodservice- The Core Group, for over 20 years. Paul married the love of his life, Sheri, in 1999. Together they have one son, Paul M. "Rock" Rockenstyre III. Paul will be remembered for his love of sports and coaching in local sports teams; including Colonie Pop Warner, Colonie Jr. Raiders, Colonie Little League, Colonie Babe Ruth, and Colonie Boys Basketball League. He cherished all the time he spent coaching his son. Paul was a family man and loved spending time with his family at Schroon Lake. His passion in life was his family.

Paul is predeceased by his grandparents; Catherine and Michael Rockenstyre, and Evelyn and Chester Oliver Sr.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Sheri, his beloved son Paul, his parents; Paul and Doreen, his sister, Kelley (Jim) Apple, his mother-in-law, Marilyn Hopper, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends, and especially his close cousin, Chet Oliver III.

Calling hours will be held at St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205 on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Clare's Church, onThursday, July 21, 2016 at 9:00am. Burial will be held at St. Johns Cemetery.
