Paul C. Petrocelli, 59, of Albany, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024, at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in NYC, surrounded by beloved family and friends, after a long illness.
Paul was born on July 30, 1964, in Albany, New York, son of the late Domenick and Faith Petrocelli.
Paul attended the School for the Deaf in Rome, New York. Following his graduation in 1984, Paul worked for many years as an Office Assistant at the NYS Department of State, until his retirement in 2022. Paul was a sports fan, loved camping, hiking, and was an avid collector of stamps and other memorabilia. He loved to spend time with family and friends and was always making people smile with his jokes. Paul was very active and had many close friends in the deaf community.
Paul is survived by his brothers, Rocky (Norma), Dino (Lisa), his two nieces, Sara, Sophia, and nephew Dino Jr., as well as relatives still living in the Bronx, Long Island, and Delaware, and several lifelong friends.
The family would like to thank all those who visited Paul during his illness and the compassionate care from the medical team at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 25, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY, 12205, with a service to be held at 12:30PM. Interment to immediately follow at Memory Gardens, 983 Albany-Shaker Road, Albany, NY 12205 .
