Albany – Paul R. Belus, 77, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014. Born January 22, 1937 in Schenectady, he was the son of John and A. Evelyn Belus.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 21 years, Georgianna J. Belus; six children David Belus (Shirlene), John Belus, Stephanie Walsh (Patrick), Tim Howe (Teresa), Katina Roy, John Roy; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. (Marissa, Brittany, DJ, Paul, Christian, Trevor, Cody, Keara, Cassidy, Kathryn, Jason, Julia, Jacob, Kimberley, Alyra). He is survived by his brother Brian D. Belus (Mary Ann) of Buffalo, NY, and other loving family.
Paul and Brian shared a deep love of Lake George and grew up there together. They helped their parents build the camp that is still enjoyed by all of the children, grandchildren, friends and family. Paul's greatest joy was to share his love of the lake with his family. Paul loved fishing, boating and anything to do with his beautiful Lake George. He and his wife, Georgianna, enjoyed many cruises together and most recently had a wonderful five week cruise through Europe.
Paul was very proud of his service to the country during his time in the US Navy while serving as a fire control technician aboard the USS Salem in the Mediterranean area. He was also a graduate of Wentworth Institute. Paul worked for Xerox for 34 years as a technical representative.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am at Community Reformed Church of Colonie, 701 Sand Creek Rd, Colonie. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Reformed Church of Colonie, Capital Campaign.
