Voorhesville – Paul J. Riley 83, passed away peacefully February 10, 2013 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, Paul was the son of the late Peter C. III and Anna Dillon Riley.
Paul courageously served his country during The Korean War with The United States Air Force. He began working for the Huyck Felt Co. in Rensselaer at the age of 17. Paul worked his way up from sweeping floors, to retiring as President of Huyck Brazil after more than 35 years of service. He loved to golf, bowl, dance, and was an avid Civil War History buff. Paul also loved to restore antique furniture.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Regina B. Riley. He is the devoted father of Deborah (James) Rocco, Paul Jr. (Yvette) Riley, Patricia Riley (Thomas Lawton). Paul is step-father to Andrea Pecanha, and Sandra DeCastro. He is the brother of John Riley. Paul is the cherished "Poppy" of Lawrence Pape, James Rocco, Amber Caruso, David Riley, Sarah, Alison, and Ryan Schenmeyer, Paula, and Pedro Gargano, and Dylan Dunney. He is the great-grandfather of Adriana, Nolan, James, Amelia, and Henry.
Paul was predeceased in 1978, by his wife and loving mother of his children Emilia Vettese Riley. He is also predeceased by brothers Daniel, and Peter C. Riley IV, and sister Joan Greene.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at McKownville United Methodist Church, 1565 Western Ave. Albany, NY 12203. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
