Paul R. Yager, 50, of Clifton Park, passed away after a 6-month bout with cancer, with his loving wife Karen, and childhood friend and "brother" Garth Beebe at his side.
Born in Glens Falls and raised in Schenectady, he is the son of Richard E. and Patricia C. Yager.
Paul attended Linton High School, Christian Brothers Academy, SUNY Brockport and Union. In his youth he participated in Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, Junior Achievment, and Operation Friendship with whom he traveled on a 3 week exchange to Germany, as well as a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church orchestra as a violinist.
Paul was a super fan of Siena basketball in addition to being a webpage designer for the team. He loved spending time with his son Brent and was head of the Clifton Park Stingers travel team and assistant coach of Evolution where Brent played. Paul played competitive pool in the APA and TAP leagues and was a long standing member of the Albany Frisbee Association.
He worked in Information Technology for BAS, Newkirk Products Inc, and as a manager for NYS Information Technology Services.
Paul loved boating with his family and friends, entertaining at home and backyard pool parties. He was a great cook and beef jerky maker.
In addition to his parents, Paul is survived by his wife Karen, son Brent R. Yager, sister Diana Yager (Harry Dingman), Ed (Joanne) Keller, Christine (Dennis) Polesky, Nicholas Kaisand, mother in law Barbara Tingue, sisters in law Lori (Mark) Goldberg and Wendy Germond, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured longtime friends Greg (Kim) Spath and Tom Marcucci.
