Pauline Raggs, 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 5, 2023. Pauline is the daughter of the late Samuel Cobbins and Mary Farrell.
She was a loving grandmother who enjoyed the coziness of being home, watching TV, coloring, word puzzles and sharing in the gospel.
She also enjoyed socializing with close friends and family. Many family members will recall her being soft spoken and kind.
She was employed by Hudson City School District as an education assistant until becoming disabled.
Pauline was predeceased by her two children Regina M. Raggs (2013) and Alexander A. Johnson (2015); grandson Acesa Denson; sisters Josephine Johnson, Bessie Buie, Sadie Morris and Mary Whiteside; brothers Herman Cobbins, Thomas Cobbins and Jackie Cobbins.
She is survived by her grandchildren Hope (Monir) Raggs-Hasan, Quanshana Raggs, Siomonia (Shawn) Pollack, Stefan Raggs and Lateece Denson; four sisters Priscilla Gardner, Katherine Ryan, Evie Cobbins and Helen Latimore; one brother William Cobbins;
13 great grandchildren and was awaiting the arrival of her first great-great grandson.
Funeral services will be held at the NewComer Cremations & Funerals at 181 Troy-Schenectady Road, Watervliet on Monday,
February 13, 2023. Viewing hours are from 1 PM – 3 PM followed by a brief service at 3 PM.
A private burial will occur later at Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson, NY.
Repast will occur after the service with time/location to be determined.
