ALBANY - Sunday, May 22, 2005, at St. Peter's Hospital, Penny L. Green passed quietly and peacefully away at age 42. She fought the fight with cancer at a very young age and for a few years. Her strength was not foreign to those who knew her.
Penny was born in Glens Falls, N.Y., on November 5, 1962 and has lived the last many years in Albany. She worked very hard and usually multiple jobs at once, currently for Source Corp out of NY, N.Y., where she was praised for being the best disability field representative they had. She also made time to be the best mother to her daughter Karen (23). She loved her friends mostly, trips to New York City, clubs, music (endlessly), aliens, mars, Johnny Depp, Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas, and cats. She faced the world with dignity and compassion, and will be a constant reminder of what one amazing woman can do. "The most important thing she'd learned over the years was that there was no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one."
Penny is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Green; her mother, Judy Allen; her aunt, Georgia Dengel; her cousins, Doug, Amy and Cindy; and her Kitty M.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Penny L. Green.
