Peter A. Ricci, 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Albany Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Peter was born in Troy to the late Angelo and Frances (Sands) Ricci. He attended St. Mary's School and graduated from Troy High School. He proudly served with the NY Air National Guard 109th Airlift Group based in Schenectady. Peter's love for work included, employment at Montgomery Ward's, bartending at the Camelot Restaurant in Albany, Mario's in Troy, Turf Inn in Colonie and the OTB Teletheatre in Albany. He also worked as a toll collector for the NYS Thruway. Many years ago Peter owned and operated Pete's Circle Diner in Latham. At the time of his death he was employed as a Sales Associate at the Home Depot in Latham. Peter was an active member of the Colonie Elks #2192, the Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520 and the American Legion. In addition to his parents Peter was predeceased by his brothers, Giacamo and Jack Ricci.
Peter is the beloved husband and best friend of Carole Ann (Mullin); he is the father of Loraine Robichaud. He is the brother of Adeline "Lee" Styno and Michael (Phyllis) Ricci. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
