Peter A. Rucinski, Jr.

ALTAMONT- Peter A. Rucinski, Jr., 77, of Altamont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 7, 2008 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born and educated in Schenectady and was the son of the late Peter and Helen Stankiewicz Rucinski Sr. Peter served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He had resided in Clifton Park and then in Altamont for the past 31 years. Mr. Rucinski was a fifty year member of Local 106 Operating Engineers. He worked at CD Perry Company in Troy for over30 years, retiring in 1993. Peter was a life member of American Legion Post 977 in Altamont and VFW Post 5294 in Guilderland. He enjoyed traveling, round and square dancing, and country music with his loving wife
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Beatrice Bennett Rucinski; his son Daniel (Kathy) Rucinski of Altamont and his daughter Sandra VanAuker of Rochester. He is the brother of Bernard (Virginia) Rucinski of Clifton Park and Frances Adams and the late John Rucinski Sr. Brother in law of Doris Rucinski of Colonie. Grandfather of Aaron, Joseph, Keri, David and Michael VanAuker of Rochester, Kara and Katrina Rucinski of Altamont. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10:00at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Lucy's Church, Altamont at 11:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden.
