Peter Bliven

SCHENECTADY – Peter A. Bliven, 35, of Schenectady, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 06, 2006 at St. Clare's Hospital. Born in Colonie, he is the beloved son of Wayne E. Bliven and the late Catherine R. Bliven. Mr. Bliven resided in Colonie before moving to Schenectady twelve years ago. As a young boy, he was very active with the boy scouts. At the time of his death, he was employed with the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. Peter enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything that had to do with the outdoors. In addition to his father, he is the beloved husband of Emma L. Bliven. He is the loving brother of Joann (Mike) Stofelano of Colonie, Brenda (Robert) Salsburg of Colonie, Deanna (Tim) Dowen of St. Augustine, FL, Ruthann Monaco of Colonie, Alyson Bliven of Colonie and Stephanie Kingsley of Saratoga Springs. He is the stepfather of Gary Waldron and Christine Carter. Also surviving are several nieces, and nephews, three great-nephews and one great-niece Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 2:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Peter A. Bliven.
