Peter David Mcmillen

Voorheesville – Peter David McMillen, 75, of Voorheesville, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 4, 2012 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Walter and Marie McMillen. Pete was employed for thirty seven years with the New York State Thruway Authority, retiring as a supervisor in 1993. He was a longtime member and treasurer of the Voorheesville Volunteer Fire Department. Peter was very involved in community and school events. He was a proud Irishman and will always be remembered for his warm and friendly disposition. He was predeceased in 2002 by his first wife, Gail Sherman McMillen.
Peter is the husband of Marie McMillen. He is the devoted father of Colleen (Chuck) Czirr, Peter (Marguerite) McMillen, Mark (Sue) McMillen and Steve (Krista) McMillen. He is the step father of Laura (Tom) Martinez, Darren Rice and JoAnne (Andrew) King. Peter is the brother of Joan (Art) Luhrs and William McMillen. He is the cherished grandfather of Christopher and Caitlin Czirr, Joseph, Taylor, Jessica, Allie, Kelsey, Ryan, Connor and Molly McMillen. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Ruben Dialysis Center, 21 Crossing Blvd., Clifton Park, NY 12065 in memory of Peter D. McMillen.
