Peter Joseph Dickinson

Manchester, NH- Peter Joseph Dickinson, 70, resident of Manchester, New Hampshire died Wednesday, September 27, 2017 peacefully at home after a long illness.

Peter was born in Albany, NY on September 13, 1947 the son of Albert and Mary (Gagnon) Dickinson. Peter is survived by his wife of over 40 years Karen (O'Connor) Dickinson; two brothers James of Orlando, FL and Daniel of Averill Park, NY; and two sisters, Susan Ross of Cohasset, MA. and Elizabeth of Vineyard Haven, MA.

Peter grew up in Westmere, NY and graduated from Guilderland HS. Peter was a man with numerous interests, but his passion was music. He played in a variety of bands in the Albany area in the late 60s and early 70s, most notably with the popular rock band Jacob. He went on to study Biology receiving a BS degree from SUNY/Albany and a MS from Temple University. Later he worked in high tech at Digital Equipment Corp and the Compaq Computer Company.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017 from 4:00PM -7:00PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 4th, 2017 at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Buried will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Albany, NY.
