LOUDONVILLE - Peter E. Miecznikowski, Jr., 62, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 30, 2010 at his home.
Peter was born on January 24, 1948 in Albany and was the son of the late Peter E. and Beverly J. (Carhart) Miecznikowski and grandson of the late Ferdinand and Maryann (Krajewska) Miecznikowski, Marion Luther and Byron Carhart.
Peter worked at the Office of the State Comptroller Retirement Systems for over 35 years, retiring as an Employees Retirement Benefits Examiner 3 in 2005. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, and a big Beatle's fan. He also enjoyed playing softball and golfing.
Peter is survived by his soul mate of 7 years, Pam Lunde and her son, Tom "T-Bird" Egan; his brother, Michael (Karen) Mezz; his sisters, Linda Palmer and Lisa Mezz; and his nieces and nephews, Michael Brian, Cori, Kristen, Nicole, Michael, Shayla, and Bria.
Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, then to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
