DELMAR-Peter J. Frazier, 64, of Cherry Ave. Delmar passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at his residence following an illness. Peter was born in Albany, NY the son of the late Leland and Delores Northrup Frazier. He has resided in Delmar for most of his life. He graduated from Cardinal McClusky High, class of 1966 and served in the Naval Reserves. Peter worked for Delaware Hudson Railroad for 18 years. After leaving the Railroad, Peter tended bar at Brockley's Tavern in Delmar and Smith's Tavern in Voorheesville. He was an Auxiliary member of the Delmar VFW post #3185 and a former member of the American Legion post #1040. Prior to his illness, Peter enjoyed traveling with his wife. Peter was an avid horse racing fan and he also enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Delmar VFW.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of over 44 years, Kathryn (Oesswein) Frazier and is the loving father of Joseph (Tanya) Frazier and Kevin M. (Kimberly) Frazier. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph, Nicholas and Jacob, his brother Thomas L. (Nancy) Frazier, Sr. and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Peter's hospice nurse, Sheila and the hospice staff for the exceptional care he received.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, March 11, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
Contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY or to the Mohawk/Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Albany in memory of Peter.
