Peter L. Gill

July 19, 1960 — December 8, 2023

Peter Lorenzo Gill, 63, beloved husband of Noreen Jasper of Latham, NY, passed away at home unexpectedly on Friday, December 8th, 2023.

Peter was born July 19, 1960, in Albany, NY, the son of the late Joseph Gill and Mary (Argento) Gill. He was raised on the family farm in Greenville, NY, where he was a member of the boy scouts for nearly 10 years. He graduated from Greenville High School, attended community college, and would become a trusted and respected financial advisor attaining his Series 7 and Series 63 and operating his own office in Albany for more than 20 years.

Our Pete was an enthusiastic hiker and loved being in the Adirondack Mountains, especially Schroon Lake. Pete had an incredible adventurous spirit, and loved going on hiking trips with his beloved sons Jonathan and Christopher as well as European trips with his wife, Noreen. He loved blues concerts, dry martinis, the cities of Rome and Paris, deep sea fishing, New York sports, political discussions, his cats Simba and Tabby, spontaneous day trips, opera at the Met, trying new restaurants, sitting around a fire talking with family and friends and hosting and cooking for his family. Peter's family meant the world to him. His pride and love for his boys was boundless, and he had gratitude in his heart every day for the love of his wife.

Pete always wanted to live life to the fullest and not take any moment for granted. His greatest joy was to be surrounded by family, especially his treasured sister Geraldine and her family and his much-loved brother Paul. Pete loved his trips to Pennsylvania having fun times with Colin, Chloe, Joe, and Ava. When Pete met Noreen, he quickly became a much loved member of her family as well. He loved and looked forward to holiday get-togethers and the annual family vacations to Schroon lake. He was our big-hearted Uncle Pete, always interested in everyone's lives, playing with the kids, and organizing adventures and cultural outings at SPAC in the summer with Noreen's family. Music was huge in his life, and he also loved going to the ballet and orchestra. When his family remembers Pete, they will remember his huge smile, loving presence, big hugs, his laughter, and the feeling that he would do anything he could for any one of us. There is a tremendous sense of loss that Pete's family must carry, but we are comforted in the incredible memories he made with all of us. He enriched all of our lives with his presence.

He is survived by his wife, Noreen; his sons Jonathan Gill (Lauren Leavitt) of Austin, Texas, and Christopher Gill (Emily Martinez) of New York City; his sister Geraldine (John) Morel of Newtown, PA; and his brother Paul Gill of Catskill, NY. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Joseph and Glenn. Pete is also survived by his mother-in-law Donna Pompa; his sisters and brothers in law Marla Gailor (Wade), Carolyn Jasper (Stan), Pamela Phelps (Darren), and Jacqueline Von Fricken (Ron); and his nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Pete so much, Amanda (Joe) Sopata, Justin (Meg) Morel, Rachel (Scott) Godbout, Sarah (Michael) Brust, Leah (Alec) Barna, Eric Von Fricken, Dylan Johnson, Anna Johnson, Chelsea (David) Curley, and Cassandra Jasper (Evan). Pete also leaves behind many treasured friends who will mourn his loss.
