MCKOWNVILLE-Peter J. Dominic, Jr., 80 passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Yonkers, NY, the son of the late Annette V. (Pacelli) and Peter J. Dominic, Sr. Peter and his wife Luella have resided in the same home for over 50 years. Peter served with the National Guard for four years. He was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church, a member of the Watervliet Elks Club and a coach with Westland Hills Little League for many years. He enjoyed nothing more than being on his boat on Saratoga Lake, the racetrack and spending time with his grandchildren. Peter was an avid Yankees fan and was also very proud of his involvement with the Capital District Soap Box Derby.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Luella (Bates) Dominic; his loving children Mitzi Hall (Stephen), Debra LaMay (Bill), Peter J. Dominic, III. (Deborah), Dianna Rios (Nicasio), Dennis Dominic (J. J.), and Darrin Dominic. He also leaves behind his beloved 14 grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Peter is also survived by his sister Virginia Miller; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Lou Bates; very special friend Chris Monroe and his little Bella dog.
A calling hour will be held from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St. Albany with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 AM.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Watervliet Elks Major Projects Fund or to the American Red Cross in memory of Peter.
