Peter M. Mcmahon

Troy- Peter M. McMahon, 54, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side.

Peter was born in Troy, NY June 9, 1963. He was the only son of the late Peter M. McMahon and Patricia Burke McMahon. Peter attended Troy High School and later joined the United States Navy from which he received an honorable discharge.

Peter was employed by the New York State Department of Health as a Print Shop Supervisor. He retired in 2016.

Peter was an avid NY GIANTS fan. He was also a fan of local casinos and racetracks. He loved to golf with his close friends and family.
One of Peter's greatest accomplishment was his sobriety. He was a loving member of the 12 step program.

Peter is survived by his wife, Mary (DeLorenzo) McMahon, his daughter Christine McMahon (Ithaca, NY) and his son Gabriel McMahon (Troy, NY), step-son Patrick VonFricken (Troy, NY), granddaughters Leigha Casey and Lilliyana Welch. He is also survived by his three sisters, Erin McMahon (Watervliet, NY), Rita DeChairo (Bobby DeChiaro)- deceased, Peggy Acevedo (Nico). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Peter is pre-deceased by two sisters, Kelly Loveless (Jamie) and Janet McMahon.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 3pm to 6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY 12189. A service will immediately follow at 6pm at the funeral home.
