ALBANY-Peter Niecey, 84 of Loren Avenue passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital following an illness. Mr. Niecey was born on June 4, 1928 in Broadalbin, NY the son of the late Nicholas and Anna Stazjecka Nyszczy. He has resided in the Albany area for most of his life. Mr. Niecey was a graduate of Broadalbin High School Class of 1947 and then was drafted into the United States Army in South Korea during peacetime. After serving his country, he was an associate meat salesman for a meat company in Broadalbin, NY and later, he was employed by Amsterdam Rug Mill as a weaver. He was also employed by GE as a machinist. Mr. Niecey then became a driver and meat salesman for Pleasant Valley and later Selected Meat Packers. He retired for several years and then went to work for the State in Fleet Management. Mr. Niecey and his wife, Joan are members of Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Niecey is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Joan (Vincent) Niecey of Albany and his brother in law, Ronald (Marlene) Vincent of Brant Lake. He is also survived by his nieces Dorothy (Ed) Nyszczy of Broadalbin, Janet (Harvey) Salzman and family of Windham, NH, Carol (Jeff) Umbrell and family of Doyletown, PA, Terri Nobleman and family of Capecod and Kelly (Vidal) Rodriquez and family of Miami, FL, a great nephew Edward (Mary Ellen) Nyszczy and children and other family relatives.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Niecey was predeceased by a sister Jennie Danelorich who died on April 1, 2005.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie with a funeral service to follow at 1:30 PM at the funeral home with the Reverend Stewart E. Pattison, officiating.
Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church, 2291 Western Ave. Guilderland, NY in memory of Mr. Niecey.
