WEEKI WACHEE, FL - Philip A. Davis, age 74, Weeki Wachee, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the HPH Hospice Care Center in Brooksville.
He was born in Albany, NY, and moved to Florida in 2001. He was a member of St. Matthew's Church in Voorheesville when he resided in East Berne. Philip retired from Albany County Government after 11 years, and also was a long shoreman. He enjoyed traveling.
Philip is survived by his wife, Catherine of Weeki Wachee; his children, Karen Firestone, Laurie Mercer, and Sharon Syrell all of Albany, NY, Philip, Jr. of Ogdensburg, NY, Ron Simpson of Albany, NY, and Michelle Simpson of Unidila, NY and Helena Lauzon both of Schenectady; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grand-children; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
