GUILDERLAND - Philip A. Rotella, 18, of Guilderland, passed away suddenly. He graduated from Guilderland High School in 2011 and was studying Criminal Justice at Hudson Valley Community College. Philip was employed part-time at the Terrace at the Beverwyck Nursing Home. He was a devoted big brother who always looked out for his sister Lena. They enjoyed dining out, talking, watching movies and spending time together. Philip's infectious smile and beautiful eyes always lit up a room. He loved baseball, riding dirt bikes, boxing, MMA, paintball and especially spending time with his family and friends. Philip was known to all as a respectful and quiet young man who always gave 100% in everything he did.
Philip is survived by his Father Luigi Rotella, his Mother Suzanne (Santandera) Rotella, his loving sister Lena Rotella, maternal Grandmother Alice Santandera, fraternal Grandparents Filippo and Michelle Rotella, Uncle Phil and Aunt Drinda Santandera, Aunt Elena Rotella, and several cousins. He was predeceased by Maternal Grandfather Philip Santandera, and Great Grandmother Angeline (Esposito) Santandera.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 8:15 at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home located at 343 New Karner Road in Colonie then to the Church of St. Clare at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens,Colonie. In lieu of flowers, any contributions may be made in memory of Philip's grandfather to the American Cancer Society.
