Philip Oliver Clarke

Philip was the son of the late Luther Constantine Clarke and Inez Amanda Williamson. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica on July 21st, 1942. Philip was the brother of Howard Edmonson Clarke, Kenneth Dunn, and Lenore Barrett.

He became a Jamaican Police Cadet at age 16 and an Officer at age 18.

Philip married Una Elena Bowen on January 30, 1971.He Emigrated to the United States from Jamaica in 1974. Retired from New York City Juvenile Justice System as an Associate Juvenile Counselor in 2011.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, Chapter 2752-S, St. Marks Church in Brooklyn.

Loving husband and father with a great smile. He enjoyed spending time with his family; his wife's cooking; walking in Prospect Park; watching movies at home; socializing with life-long friends; playing and listening to music; going to church; and fine, quality-crafted things.

Philip Clarke is survived by his loving life partner of 56 years, Una Clarke.

He will be missed by his children: Marieta Bechamp, Ronald Clarke, Pernell Clarke, Roy Clarke, Richard Clarke, Vanessa Clarke-McCarthy, Claudia Clarke, Michelle Clarke, Sophia Clarke.

He is also survived by his grand-children: Oliver Bowler and Edward Bechamp; Morgan Clarke; Meredith and Justin McCarthy III; McKenzie and Sydney Clarke and his great Grand-children: Michael and Savannah Bowler.
