Philip Lapierre, 64, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2014.
Philip was born in Pawtucket, RI, on August 19, 1950 to the late Leo O. and Florence M. (Jarvis) Lapierre. He resided in Pawtucket, RI, Plainville, MA, Waldo and Belfast, ME, and Plattsburgh, NY before settling in Troy, NY 22 years ago.
He graduated from St. Raphel Academy Pawtucket, RI and attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Philip was the co-owner and President of L.Lapierre Inc. US Mail Contractors and prior to was a printing press operator for many years.
His biggest attributes in life were his loyalty, pride and devotion to everyone and everything that he touched in life. He faced his illness with the greatest of courage and tenacity, he fought until the very last breath.
He loved a house full of people, always said "the more the merrier"; he once owned a lobster boat and most recently started traveling with his companion who showed him there was more to life than work. He also loved photography and was a huge Boston Bruins fan.
Philip is survived by his loving children, Thea M. (Shawn) Lamoureux, Philip R. Lapierre Jr., and Andrea J. (Shawn) McGowan; his cherished grandchildren, Kylie Lamoureux, Alex, Jackson and Arianna Lapierre; his adored Beagle, Marie; he is the brother of Christine Dwyer, Lisa Lapierre, Kim (James) Kelly and Roy (Karen) Lapierre. He is also survived by his love and companion Susan Robert and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Clares Catholic Church, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 8,2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will follow the Mass in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
