Philip Russell

February 8, 1931 — January 6, 2017

Altamont - Philip L. Russell, went to be with our Lord on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the age of 85. He was born into this world son of Edith and Philip Russell.

Phil attended school in Troy, graduated and went to work as a machine operator for Guyer and Bloom. It was there that he met his wife of over 60 years, Anna Dunham. He completed a correspondence course in electronics and began his career. Twenty plus years of that was with Conrail as a radioman, computer operator and signalman. He was a parishioner of St. Mathew's Church in Voorheesville for over 50 years. Most recently he had moved to assisted living at Judson Meadows in Scotia.

A special thank you goes to all of the staff there that kept him comfortable there.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Russell, residing at Baptist Healthcare in Scotia. Mr. and Mrs. Scott E. and (Jenifer) M. Russell, of New Hartford, N.Y. and Loving grandchildren, Daniel Russell, James Russell and Megan Russell.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years Anna Russell.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1pm at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. Visitation will be held prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home from 12-1pm. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
