(Latham) Philip A. Valenti, 90, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 14, 2021. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Anthony and Pierina Valenti. Philip is predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Eleanor Carlstrom as well as his daughter, Denise Valenti.
Honorably discharged from the Army in April 1953 he enlisted in the army and served as a cook during the Korean War. His hobbies include playing the organ, cooking, and baking; where he owned 3 bakeries in the Albany, Saratoga areas for 8 years.
Philip is survived by his children, Anthony Valenti (Patti), Patrina Valenti, Philip Valenti Jr, Helene Valenti, Kathleen Brennan, Julie Valenti, Joseph Valenti; by his grandchildren, Dave (Stephanie), Katie (Mark), Anthony, Kristina (Ryan), Jessica (John), Kailee, Karah, Joshua, Jeremy, Mark, Matt, Eleanor, JP, Robert, Benjamin; by his great grandchildren, Kylee, Lanie, Edward, Alison, Jaylin, Ciara, Melody, Lily, Connor, Jackson, Cora, Leelah, Gabriel, Landon; and great great grandson Hayden. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Valenti.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany County at 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 4pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A funeral service will be held on Friday the 18th at 10am at the funeral home with interment being held at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
