SCHENECTADY- Phillip J. "J.D." Diederich, 62, passed away at Ellis Hospital on Friday, July 17, 2015 with his loving family by his side.
J.D. was born to the late Michael and Dorothy Diederich on July 10, 1953 in Schenectady, NY. After attending Mt. Pleasant High School, J.D. began his 37 year career at General Electric. In 1977 J.D. married his beloved wife of 38 years, Linda. In 2009 J.D. retired from G.E. and in his free time enjoyed watching Yankee Games and Nascar Races. J.D.'s true passion in life was his family, especially spending time with his 9 grandkids.
J.D. is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his children; Carol (Andrew) Mays, Christopher Kolowski, James (Shannon) Diederich, Heather Diederich, and Steven Diederich, his cherished grandkids; Anthony, Taylor, Katlin, Alexander, Isabella, Savanna, Christopher Jr., Phillip, and John. As well as a host of family and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY, on Monday, July 20, 2015 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral ceremony will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in J.D.'s name to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
