Krantz, Phillip
Colonie – Phillip Edward Krantz, 50, entered into eternal life, Thursday December 10, 2009. Born November 1, 1959 in Sterling, Kansas, he was the eldest child of Nadine B. Krantz and the late Edward P. Krantz. Phillip received his BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Tenessee University and participated in the Doctorial program of Mathematics at SUNY Albany where he also taught mathematics for a brief period time. He worked for the IRS in Bakersfield, CA and most recently worked for the Bank of America in Albany.
Phillip loved mathematics and computers. He loved a good debate, particularly in politics and was a vociferous reader and collector of classical and historical novels. Phillip also enjoyed Civil War history and participated in numerous reinactments. Some of his favorite moments were spent with his extended family at many family gatherings. Phillip is survived by his mother, two sisters: Tracy Krantz Davis and Kristine Krantz Ruggaber, 7 nieces and nephews and many loving family members residing throughout the U.S. Phillip will be dearly missed by all o f his loved ones.

The funeral service will be Monday 6:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homeless and Travelers Aid Society, 138 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206.
