Albany, N.Y. – Philomena C. Raimo, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Albany Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Philomena was born in Glens Falls and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Christina DiDomenico. She loved spending time with her family, going to her grandson's baseball games and parades, cooking and knitting. She also loved going to the Colonie Diner for many lunches and dinners.
Philomena is survived by her beloved niece Diane (Ralph) LeBarron and their children Dianna and Rachel. She is the loving mother of her four boys; James (Kymberly), Anthony (Linda), Michael and Joseph (Grace). She is the grandmother of Macy, Jackson, Elliott, Joseph (Chris) Jr., Anthony (Hilary), David and Lisa and she is the great-grandmother to Anthony, Michael, Collin and Christian.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Albany Memorial Hospitals ICU unit and to the second floor at Albany County Nursing Home for the tremendous care that was given to Philomena from the staff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Clare's Church, Colonie. Calling hours will precede from 9 to 10 at New Comer Cannon Funeral 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (rt. 155 – South of Central Ave). Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942 in memory of Philomena and all of the love that she has brought to our children.
