ALBANY – Philomena G. DeRusso Hulslander, 88, of Albany, passed away on Wednesday November 17, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Charles and Marguerite DeRusso. Philly was employed as a Lab Technician with New York State Health Department for over twenty years. She enjoyed watching old movies and following the star celebrity's careers. Mrs. Hulslander was predeceased by her husband Theodore F. (Jerry) Hulslander.
She is the beloved mother of Paul (Linda) Hulslander and James (Edery) Hulslander. Philly is the sister of Marguerite Mullin and the late Rose DeRusso, Charles DeRusso and Genevieve Dillon. She is the cherished grandmother of Todd (Peg) Hulslander, Debby (David) Hayes, John Hulslander, Richard (Bonnie) Squadere, Cheryl Squadere, Carrie Squadere, Matthew (Gretchen) Squadere and Kristy Hulslander. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 5 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
