Amsterdam- Phoebe Ruth Edmonds, 87, of Amsterdam, formerly of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 12, 2009 at her residence.
She was born in Severance, NY and was the daughter of the late Vernon and Alice Tyrell. Ruth led a full and rich life that was centered around her loving family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence D. Edmonds and her son in law, Herbert Frese.
She is the beloved mother of Karen (Kevin) Boothe, Mary Edmonds, Larry Edmonds, Margaret (Kenneth) Frese, Don (Janet) Edmonds, David (Suzanne) Edmonds and Heidi Frese (John Meckley). She is the cherished grandmother of Nicole Hensley, Amy Wells, Lori Diaz, Keri Marr, Megan, Jennifer, Sarah, Jessica and Michael Edmonds. Ruth is the great grandmother of Brianna, Alexis, Katherine, Ethan and Lukas.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 445 New Karner Rd.
