Colonie - Phyllis A. Scott Coleman passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family after long battle with sarcoidosis. Phyllis was born in Covington, Virginia to the late David Lee Scott and Luvella Elizabeth (Smith) Scott. She retired from New York State Education Department after 40 years of service.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Clarence Coleman Sr., her beloved children, Annetta Coleman (J. Miguel Flores), Clarence Coleman Jr.; two grandchildren, Ariyanna Chillis and Mateo Flores; four brothers, David and Raymond Scott of New York, NY, Charles (Laura) Scott of Chesapeake, Virginia, Steven Scott of Low Moor, Virginia, an aunt, Ardelia Pegram of Huntington, West Virginia, an uncle, Gilbert (Letha) Smith of Covington, Virginia , two brother-in-laws, Bishop Isaiah (Dorothy) Coleman of Durham, North Carolina, Melvin (Jacqueline) Coleman of Bridgeport, Connecticut; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and members of Empire Christian Center family.
Calling hours will be Thursday, November 15 from 4pm to 7pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Tre' Stanton, officiating.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
