LATHAM – Phyllis G. Halloran, 90, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Phyllis was born on January 28, 1920 in Sycamore, Ohio. She graduated from Milan High School in Milan, IN and the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis, IN. She was a registered nurse for the Methodist Hospital for several years before moving to New York. On January 2, 1944, she married J. Thomas Halloran at Maxwell Field in Montgomery, AL, he died on October 2, 1991.
Phyllis loved traveling, camping, sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Michael T. (Louise) Halloran of Pembroke Pines, FL; her daughters, Pat (James) Colloton of The Villages, FL and Debora Halloran of Latham; her brother, Rod Gerrard of Richmond, IN; her grandchildren, Keith (April) Halloran, Sarah Halloran, Chris (Danielle) Smith, Lisa (David) Koval, James (Kristin) Colloton, and Kelly Martin; her great-grandchildren, Jaime, Elisabeth Claire, and Jonathan; several nieces and nephews; and her very special neighbors. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Willard K. Gerrard; her sisters, Kate Stomps and Margie Barton; and her grandson, Andrew Halloran.
A special thank you to the nurses in the critical care unit at Albany Memorial Hospital for their care and concern given to Phyllis in her final days.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Cohoes. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
