ROTTERDAM- Phyllis Marie Laverty, 77, passed away with peace and grace on Sunday, March 19th, 2017, with her family by her side. Phyllis is survived by her husband James Laverty, her children Raymond (Ginny) Judd, William (Donna) Yager, Tammie Laverty, and Kelly (Christopher) Law, her grandchildren Raymond Judd Jr, Christina (Robert) Snyder, Kathryn (Peter) Alioto, Kimberly Yager, Erin Law, Jessica (Kumail) Zaheer, Christopher Law Jr, Michael Laverty, and Randy Laverty, and great grandson Gabriel Brown.
Phyllis was born on January, 30th 1940. She resided in the peaceful town of Rotterdam for over 40 years. Phyllis enjoyed her work with St. Paul's Catholic School and Parish. She was everyone's grandmother and friend. She also dedicated her time to the Schonowe Women's Auxiliary District # 7 Fire Department. Her greatest passion in life was making others smile. Phyllis will be remembered by all as a dedicated mother, wife, and grandmother whose true passion in life was helping ones in need. She has left us blessed with memories.
Calling Hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY, on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm. The burial will take place privately by her children and grandchildren at a later date.
Donations may be made in Phyllis's name to The Make A Wish Foundation to support a child's dream of visiting the happiest place on earth. If you were close to Phyllis you know her love for Mickey and Disney was undeniable.
