Phyllis A. Schowe

Albany- Schowe Phyllis Anne, 89, passed peacefully in her sleep October 15, 2023. Phyllis was born in Rahway, NJ, to the late John and Laura Snyder.

Phyllis was a, volunteer with Cub Scouts, Amsterdam Hospital and Red Cross Blood Drives. She was employed as a History and English Teacher in Middletown, NY. She was also a Receptionist at the Amsterdam Animal Hospital and a Data Entry Clerk at White Mop Ringer Company in Fultonville, NY.
Phyllis is a former member of the Thunder Road Seniors, Silver Sneaker senior club, Thursday Musical Club and hand bell choir, St. Clare Seniors and the Resurrection Choir. Phyllis was a communicant of the St. Clares Catholic Community.

Phyllis is, predeceased, by her Husband Lester F. Schowe, ex-husband Dr. Charles Durland DVM, Sister Joan Beckman, Stepmother Elizabeth Hof Snyder.

Phyllis is survived by Daughter Donna (R. Michael) Conners, Son Scott (Suzzette Solano) Durland, Granddaughters Tina (Greg) Forgea and Mandy Conners, Great Grandsons Ryan and Matthew Forgea, Brother J. David (Betty) Snyder, Brother in Law Paul Beckman and Step-sister Dr. Margaret Nightingale. Stepsons Lester (Nadine) Schowe, Richard (Marylou, deceased) Schowe, Ron (Jan Nuzzo) Schowe, Michael (Bonnie) Schowe and many step-grandchildren, step great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call to New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Road Colonie NY, 12205, Sunday October 22, 2023 from 2pm-4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated Monday October 23, 2023 at 10am at Church of Saint Clare 1947 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205. Interment will follow the mass at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Phyllis' name to Shriners Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
